I have committed to a new photographic experiment! My usual Ebay style is to put down a low bit and not expect to win, and then occasionally – like on this item – find that I in fact came out on top. I am now the proud, but surprised owner of a Cosmicar 12.5mm f1.4, C-Mount lens. I have been itching to try this on one of the Nikon 1 series bodies, hoping to be surprised by good results yet expecting to be underwhelmed. We are talking about lenses made for security cameras, after all.
That all being said, if it is even half way decent it could be worth it. This is a fast lens at f/1.4 and relativly wide, on paper making it similar to a Leica 35mm Summilux. Note the key phrases there: “similar to” and “on paper”.
